Getting To Asbury Park

Asbury Park is a short 90 minutes from New York City, Philadelphia or Atlantic City and convenient to the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway and I-195. For those of you who are unable to drive, there are a few other transportation options.

BY TRAIN OR BUS

Asbury Park is a train stop on New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line from New York City’s Penn Station to Bay Head, New Jersey. New Jersey Transit also serves the city with bus routes throughout the state. For train and bus schedules and fares visit NJTransit.com.

BY FERRY

Visitors and commuters also travel to Asbury Park via ferry service. You can utilize either of the two services that dock in nearby towns. For the Seastreak Ferry Service, which arrives in Atlantic Highlands and Highlands visit Seastreak.com. For New York Waterway Ferry Service, which arrives in Belford visit NYWaterway.com.

Asbury Park is served by several nearby international airports, including Newark International (EWR), JFK International (JFK), La Guardia Airport (LGA), Atlantic City International (ACY) and Philadelphia International (PHL).

Parking in Asbury Park

Metered street parking is in effect 7 days a week from 9am to 2am. Fees vary by season and zone. You can purchase parking at conveniently located pay stations with cash (no change is given) and credit cards. For added convenience, simply download the “Asbury PARK” or Parkmobile parking apps to pay with credit card through your smartphone. There are also a number of privately-owned public parking lots located in commercial areas.

Getting Around

One of the best things about being just over 1.5 square miles is the ease of moving about town without your car! This is a largely walkable city, or try the bike share program or scooter program, with stations throughout the city. Many guests opt to bring their own bike, use car services such as Uber, Lyft and taxis. Also, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, additional options include: Jitney, Scooter Dudes, Free Ride, Ride with Pride Pedacab and Pedalcycle.
